Jesus Christ Superstar
Directed by: Michael Williams
Lyrics by: Tim Rice
Music by: Andrew Lloyd Webber

The first musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to be produced for the professional stage marks the first production of Theater Down South under its new banner, Theater Delivery Service. Produced by De La Salle Santiago Zobel School in Ayala Alabang, Jesus Christ Superstar featured a talented cast of young actors aged 10 to 18, stage managers-in-training aged 16 to 18, and a dedicated cast of DLSZ alumni.
The rock opera tells the story of the last few days in the life of Jesus Christ, told mainly from the point of view of Judas Iscariot - from his journey to and entrance into Jerusalem, his arguments with the high priests and his apostles, his discussion with Pontius Pilate, and to his violent death.
Jesus Christ Superstar was presented under an amateur license by arrangement with The Really Useful Group, Ltd and ran in March 2011.

Director's Notes
"In examining the last days of Christ through this show, we all had to reflect on what His life meant to each of us as individuals and to the human race as a whole. While each of us had different points of view and may have been in different places on our respective spiritual journeys, none of us could deny the significance of this one man and his tremendous passion for humankind."
